The first Open Worship Evening took place at the Church tonight from 7:30pm till around 8:15pm. For the first meeting we had a surprising and pleasing turn out, even seeing a few new faces. The service was led by Beryl Atherton and included readings, music, prayers and silence. It was a relaxed atmosphere and everyone remarked how much they enjoyed it. It was an inclusive service which made us all feel welcome, irrespective of religion or background. Afterwards, refreshments were served.

Wes and Rebecca Paul of the Unitarian Church Committee travelled to Rawtenstall to collect an old relic - a commemorative stone commissioned by the incumbent of Todmorden Unitarian Church dedicated to the last two people to be burnt at the stake for heresy. The stone now resides at its rightful home.
