The first Open Worship
Evening took place at the Church tonight from 7:30pm
till around 8:15pm. For the first meeting we had a
surprising and pleasing turn out, even seeing a few
new faces. The service was led by Beryl Atherton and
included readings, music, prayers and silence. It
was a relaxed atmosphere and everyone remarked how
much they enjoyed it. It was an inclusive service
which made us all feel welcome, irrespective of
religion or background. Afterwards, refreshments
were served.

The Church is currently
being re-decorated - a kitchen and toilets are being
installed, including disabled facilities. The work is
estimated to be completed in 6 to 8 weeks time.
This page will be
kept up to date with pictures as the work
develops.

Wes and Rebecca Paul of the
Unitarian Church Committee travelled to Rawtenstall to
collect an old relic - a commemorative stone
commissioned by the incumbent of Todmorden Unitarian
Church dedicated to the last two people to be burnt at
the stake for heresy. The stone now resides at its
rightful home.
