Weddings, Blessings and Celebrations For a Wedding with a difference! Todmorden Unitarian Church is a beautiful and unique Gothic building in the heart of the Calder Valley, a 500 seater Church with sandstone floor and marble pillars, complete with a bell tower rising to an impressive 196 feet. Now owned by the Historic Chapels Trust and maintained by a local community group, Todmorden Unitarian Church is a truly wonderful and magical place to hold your special day! What’s more, the Unitarian Church practises a liberal faith, welcoming to all regardless of creed, colour or religious faith. This allows couples a huge amount of freedom in the planning of their ceremony. There have been several very successful services in recent years in the church, including two large wedding receptions with several more planned for 2012. The setting and acoustics are fantastic. In the past few years we have had live music in the form of a choir, cover band, folk band, west African drummers and even karaoke, all have been proven to be a great success.

How Much Will It Cost Me? I Want To Book – Now What Do I Do? If you decide to go ahead and book your big day with us, then feel free to contact our Events Team to view the Church, and you’ll then be transferred to our minister (Beryl), who will guide you through the process and discuss your wishes and requirements. Beryl is a wealth of knowledge and will tell you all you need to know about applying for a registrar, collecting your certificates, witnesses and all the necessary legal requirements. You’ll probably meet with Beryl on at least two occasions to discuss the format and content of the service, and a rehearsal will be held two or three days before the wedding, and aspects of the service and be varied according to what you want. We hope that in working with the Minister and the local community, we can help you create a unique and memorable occasion in this beautiful building. Some optional extras include:
For more information about the extras, you can contact our Events Manager, Wes. Can I Have Drinks or Food/Reception After My Wedding? Yes you can, although you will need to arrange this direct with our Events Managers Wes & Becky on on 07806 775 639, or by e-mailing euclid44@aol.com and not with our minister. What About Parking? Parking is limited here at the Church. Unfortunately we can only accommodate up to 6 cars up at the top. One of these is the minister's car, and the other 5 of your choice. We would recommend limiting the cars to the wedding cars and those who are disabled, elderly or have difficulty walking. Cars displaying the disabled blue badge will be allowed access as a priority and where possible. If you could let our Events Team know the registration details/make of car of your 5 chosen vehicles, then the person on the gate will know which cars to let up. If there are any other vehicles making drop offs but not parking, that can also be arranged! Parking for other guests is available up Longfield Road, opposite the Golden Lion and in Morrisons' car park, who are very agreeable and allow us to park there when we have events on. Catering Catering is available from The Bear Cafe in Todmorden, who arrange their own fees, and we also have an arrangement with Vedas, a local restaurant who can cook some fabulous tasty curries for your big day! I Want A Civil Partnership – Can I Do It Here? Unfortunately a civil marriage ceremony cannot be held in a church building, but you can celebrate your partnership here are the Church either using our minister or choosing your own way to celebrate.
